WELCOME TO THE LIBRARY
Cockroaches are close relatives of termites. They develop in and around buildings and other structures that provide food, shelter, and the preferred temperature conditions . Cockroaches are hiding during the day and become active soon after sunset (darkness) seeking food. Majority of infestations are associated with kitchens or other food –handling areas both domestic and commercial.
Silverfish are very primitive insects that constitute the order thysanuran in Australia. Silverfish are fast running, nocturnal insects. They are usually found in dark. Their inability to climb smooth surfaces often results in their being trapped in bathtubs and basins.
Ants are social insects that live in a colony and tend to be very familiar insects. They are commonly observed around foundations and in walls, roof voids, kitchens, lawns and gardens, the wood of decaying trees and rockeries. As group, the ant is considered to be successful of all insects. For the control of ants, we need to know nesting and feeding habits to control them.
There are three castes of ants. 1.Male 2. Female 3. Worker
Living in colonies, which are assemblages of different individuals with definite functions of the task. The size of the colony varies from few hundreds to a few thousands or even millions, as in mounding building spices. Termites have thin cuticles and are therefore susceptible to desiccation. They spend most of their lives in high humidity and temperature conditions within their workings and colony.
Fleas are small and blood suckers. The majority feeding on animals such as dogs, cats, pigs and some feeding on birds. They prefer warm conditions. The entire life cycle may take as little as 18 days or more than a year in favourable conditions and mostly you can see them in summer indoor and outdoors. Adult males and females, both blood suckers,
Flea species that are import: Cat flea, Dog flea, Human flea, Oriental rat flea
Bedbugs are one of the true insects. The bites of bedbugs at night can prove to be very irritating, even unbearable at times. They are blood suckers at all stages of their development. Most of their time is spent hiding in cracks and crevices in fairly close proximity to their sleeping host. Temperature is very important in the host location. The most important host is humans, but in some cases bats, cats, and other animals may serve for feeding.
WASP AND BEE
Wasps and bees are both family of the Hymenoptera order of insects. However their bodies are different. Both Wasps and bees are capable of giving painful stings. The wasp can sting multiple times, and they are more aggressive. But if you don't disturb Bees nests they won't attack and sting you. The bee has a golden coloured body and hair. But the wasp has smooth and shiny skin.
The bird are useful animals, but sometimes because of activities of humans they become the pest. Birds some times nest in buildings and gating access from broken tiles or ridge capping. When birds nest in the building they become the host for bird mites and bird lice. If the building and access points for the bird are closed, they can not get in and this leads to less problems for the home owner.
The Spider has 8 jointed legs and their bodies are divided into two sections: cephalothorax and abdomen. Most spiders have three or more pair of eyes, situated on the sides and top of the cephalothorax. Majority of spiders are nocturnal. They leave the protection of their burrows or shelters and go out in search for food or, in the case of web-spinning spiders, construct their webs snare prey. As day breaks, most spiders seek the safety of their shelter again. Must spider harms less and they protect the environment. And result of them bites no more than swelling or irritation.
Some of the most dangerous spider in Australia are. 1.Sydney funnel web spider, 2. Red back spider, 3. Mouse spider, 4. Trap door spider,5. White tailed spider 6. Black house spider
The rodent is a serious pest of humans and in some cases, be difficult to control. These animals are well adapted to living in close association with humans, sharing food and shelter. They are more active at night looking for food and water, but if the food source is near by during the day time, search for food. Rats and mice have been responsible for enormous losses of food. They have the ability to transmit diseases to humans by variety of means, enormous losses of human life. To prevent the rodent, in residential and commercial property, we must clean in and out door properties, dispose of food, clean the kitchens, clean the garage, Block access points to the property, fix tap and Cover rainwater tank.We have three types of rodent in Australia. 1.Norway rat 2. Roof rat 3. House mouse
